a world without a side

being an outsider

doesn’t feel good

it is painful

 

and when this happens

no one is free

so why are there

insiders

and

outsiders

 

i want to live

in a world

with no “siders”

 

just humans being together

fully seeing

that no one

should be

on the outside

or on the inside

 

but we have to be honest

the world wants

to categorize, divide and separate

as soon as we say

“these are my people”

we have let them win

 

“them” being

the separators and oppressors

who thrive and profit off the

insider and outsider game

 

so i for one

won’t let them win

 

and want you to know

if there is any side i take

it is to

pull you

aside

look you in the eye

to see

a part of me

is a part of you

 

and maybe

just maybe

together we

can create a world

without a

 

side
