Meet Jon Davis

Jon Davis is a highly sought after facilitator (over 13,000 hours in practice), community builder, coach, and writer. He is the recent author of “becoming more human: words from the soul” and an executive producer of two social change documentaries.

He is skilled at bringing diverse groups together across multiple disciplines to accelerate strategic goals and mobilize action towards a cause. He has been recognized as a thought leader in how to build equitable social capital networks that increase access to opportunity through his contributions to national organizations like The Brookings Institution, Opportunity Insights, Welcoming America and PBS.

Jon is the Founder and President of Circles Community that brings people together from a variety of backgrounds and industries to activate their very best. The Circles team works with leaders and changemakers who want to access new and unused ways of thinking through inspiring conversation, community building and the creative arts. They conduct these offerings typically in ½, 1-day and 2-day timeframes with some incredibly talented entrepreneur partners, artists and musicians. This methodology has also been used to create transformational results for team off-sites and organizations who want to pursue uncommon leadership and results in their industries.

Over the past 15 years, Jon has nurtured a gift for connecting people, seeing potential, creating gatherings and team retreats to exchange ideas, and continues to contribute his expertise to address some of our world’s greatest challenges. He has coached some amazing leaders in Fortune 500 companies, the creative industry, public education, corporations, non-profits, civic leaders, athletics and businesses committed to change and social impact.

Over the years, Jon has been attracted to many meaningful programs, organizations, and opportunities such as the Center for Intentional Leadership where he was a senior consultant for eight years; community service through Communities In Schools of Charlotte where he is the past Chair of the Board of Directors.

Jon is the past visionary and brainchild of the Making Room podcast which is another way he created space for leaders to connect in their shared humanity. He has been an advisor for ourBridge for Kids or a non-profit that creates access and resources for newly arrived families to the U.S.

He has been named an “Opportunity Champion” by Charlotte’s Leading on Opportunity organization in recognition for the way he prioritizes generating social capital and new business for Black and Immigrant owned companies.

Jon has a B.A. from Davidson College where he majored in Political Science with a secondary concentration in Spanish.
